Bannerghatta National Park

So a year after ambitiously starting this blog to record the antics and activities of my now almost 25 month child, I'm BACK!
Back with a bang in Bangalore. Yeah I know its BENGAluru. Missing the bang a bit but oh what the hell; Mumbai to the world is still Bombay to me.
So here we are in Garden city in south India. For a year. And I intend to make this a fun, eventful, exciting, educating, enlightening .... you get the point... year for child and self, of course.
So on the polite invitation of a cousin, we landed at Bannerghatta National Park, 25 kms south of Bangalore (thanks Wiki). OMG I just figured out how to insert a hyperlink. I am so cool. Lucky you Eshan. :)
Yes, so we showed up on a nice cloudy day at the zoo/national park. Had a blast. Tons of animals, birds, reptiles, creepy crawlies and whatnot. We did not stay long enough to see the creeps n the whatnots. But saw the hippos, who obliged by popping outta the water, a herd of ele.s, cobra, python

(hugeass thing!), various varieties of monkeys, including one called a Hanuman Langur, parakeets( the regular green parrot is actually known as a parakeet, NOT a parrot), a gorgeous hornbill, some peacocks and peahens( also gorgeous - the peacock actually showed off a bit of the tail fanned out - george-us), and a very pretty and rare white peafowl. Full white. Loved it.
Then it rained. And being the careless mum I am, I'd left childs raincoat in the car. Did not want to trudge back to car and re-enter zoo (for the second time) so decided to call it a day. Child was sleepy too. Great excuse.

But I will return. Several times. For 30 bucks a piece, great deal.
